Janine Avril
English + Philosophy Teacher
Professor Janine Avril teaches senior English and philosophy and 9th grade health. She received a BS in Human Development from Cornell University (1998) and an MA in English Literature from Brooklyn College (2004). She is the author of Nightlight: A Memoir ( Alyson Books, 2007). Prof. Avril loves hosting philosophical discussions and podcasts and designing curriculum about diverse memoirs and fictional works. She also loves bringing mindfulness and meditation to the student body whenever possible.
