Volunteer Opportunities

Getting involved as a volunteer is a great way to express your interest in the education of your children, but most importantly it shows your children how important they are for you. Research has demonstrated that volunteers can help in creating a school environment that is not only supportive and welcoming, but that also serves as a support for better behavior and performance in students. Volunteers can be role models who lend their valuable time and contribute for the improvement of school attendance, grades and test scores, matriculation, less misbehavior, better social skills, staying in school, graduating, and going on to college (Henderson and Mapp, 2002).

CSS has many different opportunities for parents and family members to volunteer at school. All volunteers are equally valuable, and we understand how priceless your time is; therefore we encourage you to share with us whatever amount of time you can. There is no minimum time required to volunteer. Do you have 15 minutes to spare to set up the Bake Sale? We would take it. Do you have a washer and dryer at home? You can take the dirty tablecloths from past events to wash and return them to the PTA closet later. Are you good at something? You could teach an after school elective. These are just some examples of the multiple ways that you can help CSS.

Here are the regular volunteering opportunities available, but make sure to check your family email for other opportunities
