DONATE TO CSS
There are two ways you can financially support our school: Via our Parent Teacher Association (PTA) and through Friends of CSS. These two organizations work tirelessly to make sure our students, teachers, and entire CSS community have what is needed to achieve our greatest potential. Any donation, big or small, is very much appreciated. Together we are better!
PARENT TEACHER ASSOCIATION
The PTA is an organization that exists solely for the benefit of our students and school community. Our fundraising efforts improve the overall CSS community which includes students, faculty, parents and school administration. All money raised through our events is funneled back into other events and programs for students. The Parent Teacher Association sponsors many wonderful fundraising, entertaining, and educational events and programs throughout the school year. They include:
- 6th and 9th Grade Orientations
- Teacher Mini-Grants
- Department Grants
- Family Science Night
- Athletics
- National Honor Society
- Cultural Events
- Senior Scholarships
- Musicals
Every parent and teacher is an automatic member of the PTA. Please consider contributing to support the funding of activities and resources for CSS. The Columbia Secondary School Parents Association (n/k/a The Parent-Teacher Association of the Columbia Secondary School for Math, Science & Engineering, Inc.) is a 501(c)3 tax-exempt organization. Your donation is tax-deductible within the guidelines of U.S. tax law. Please retain your email donation receipt as your official record. Our tax ID is 26-0787265. We are asking families for a donation of $250 per child (if you can), but our goal is 100% participation so whatever you can give will be gladly accepted!
FRIENDS OF CSS
Over the years, thanks to the committed parents, Friends of CSS has been able to:
- Build and maintain a professional, fully staffed college guidance office.
- Launch a one-of-a-kind after school electives program and engineering program.
- Send students on all-day and overnight field trips & college visits.
- Provide essential administrative staff.
- Support our award winning philosophy program.
To support our students, we are asking you to CONSIDER making a contribution or pledge of $500 to Friends. We understand that $500 is a stretch for many of our families, however, any amount helps, so we urgently ask for every family to give what they can. No student has ever missed a Friends-funded activity due to lack of funds.
