8th Grade Earth Science and College Geology

I currently live in Westchester with my two children and husband. I am not new to teaching and have been teaching for fourteen years. I received my bachelor’s degree from Purchase College and my master’s degree from Lehman College. I routinely take graduate classes to further my teaching certifications and increase my knowledge of scientific concepts, both for my pedagogy and just for fun. On the weekends, we hike all over the Hudson Valley. I love exploring the geology of the Hudson Valley along with my family, so much so my oldest asked for a rock hammer for his birthday. I am very excited about sharing my enthusiasm for science with my students. I aim to give them a new perspective into the processes, both obvious and maybe not so subtle but less noticed, that have shaped the Earth over time. I hope my insight and unique personality give my students a new appreciation for these Earth shattering processes.
