Cafeteria Committee

The cafeteria committee has the following purposes:

1) enhance the nutritional quality of the cafeteria offerings;

2) provide educational experiences re world cuisine, cooking, etc; and

3) assist in setting up the cafeteria lounge so that it is a desirable place (this includes table cloths, flowers, music and av system - so we can listen to poetry, sing, monologues, etc.

I intend to have at least one perhaps two days a week where we have a formal sit-down - with faculty and advisory groups, setting up table clothes and dining together while we philosophize, discuss issues, read poetry, listen to great music...we want to create a totally different experience to the school lunch period - it shold be fun, but sometimes formal, and always an opportunity to share, build community and learn. At CSS dining should be part of the special experience.

Items needed for Cafeteria decoration/Decoracion de la cafeteria

1) 20 dark blue tablecloths for tables that are 8x4
2) 20 black or dark brown wooden frames any sizes larger than 8x10
3) one large fake candlelabrum (12 or more "candles") (this is for a ritual - we can't use real candles in the school!!!)
4) 4 large 4 ft or more indoor trees or palms or bamboo trees
5) 4 large ceramic pots
6) 12 indoor hanging plants
7) any large (10x24 or larger) old colorful posters, photos
