Limarys Caraballo

Limarys is a doctoral student in the Department of Curriculum and Teaching at Teachers College, with a concentration in urban and multicultural education. She investigates critical approaches to literacy and diversity in curriculum development and professional development in urban schools. Prior to joining the CSS community, she worked as an English Literature and Language Arts teacher and Assistant Principal in Berkeley, California for ten years. She has worked toward innovative and interdisciplinary curriculum development by developing and coordinating cross-curricular projects, curriculum design, service learning and professional development programs with faculty, administration and students. Her overarching goal is to work collaboratively with students, parents, faculty and administration to foster students’ creative and independent thinking, understanding of diversity, commitment to service, and academic excellence.
