Quick Update: Parents Association Meeting of 4.9.08

  • The FUNDRAISING COMMITTEE is working on several activities and ideas to increase funds raised by the PA. You can expect to receive e-mails regarding their planned activities.
  • The filing of the paperwork to apply for 501c3 status for the PA has begun. This process usually takes several months to finalize by the IRS.
  • We are looking into ways to increase security for students, both inside the school and on the adjacent street during the 4-6 PM window.
  • This year we will hold the 1st ANNUAL AWARDS CEREMONY for academics and citizenship at Lowe Hall on Columbia campus. You will receiving e-mails asking for input/volunteering for activities connected with this event. We are planning to hold this event on June 26th, Thursday night from 7-9pm. This formal event will include dinner, awards and keynote speakers.
  • We established the NOMINATING COMMITTEE which will begin the election process of the Executive Board members for the 2008/2009 school year. You will be receiving the nomination forms. Please begin to think about the positions you will interested in filling for the coming school year.
  • The SLT elections were held and the 3 elected representatives for these 2 year terms are: Adam Stern, Candy Gulko, Demaris Padilla
