Rosalind Franklin is prominent in virtually every telling of DNA history, but she is painted differently in various accounts. Watson and Crick made one of the most important and impressive scientific discoveries of the 20th century, but their golden helix is tarnished by the way they have treated Franklin and Wilkins. A meaningful gesture, given that it was Franklin's data that Watson and Crick most directly used, would be for scientists to refer to the "Watson, Crick, and Franklin structure for DNA."

Middle School STUDENT UNIFORM CODE:
In May 2007 the founding class of 2014, represented by 68 students (75% participation rate) voted on the uniform proposal and came to the recommendations outlined below.
1) PANTS - intermediate blue jeans (NO DESIGNER JEANS OR MORE THAN $60). keep it basic and simple! If the outdoor temperature is higher than 78 F students may wear khaki or jean shorts, as per student government petition that was approved in Spring 2008.
2) SHIRT - Light blue dress shirt (long sleeved) and light blue polo shirt either short or long-sleeved(students may wear either on any given day but ALL students must possess at least one dress shirt for special occasions as determined by the Principal and or student government). All shirt options will have the CSS shield and lettering.
3) BELT black (or if a beltless pant option is chosen, no belt)
4) SHOES - black shoes or black sneakers (any brand)
5) TIE - dark blue (optional to wear on any given day, but all students must have at least one tie for special occasions as determined by the principal and/or student government)
6) Jacket - an optional dark blue (navy) jacket with the CSS shield.
7) You may also wear a any sweater over your CSS shirt but it must be dark blue or light grey.
We also agreed that the GYM uniform will consists of the following (all will be available for purchase during the first week of classes)
1) T-shirt designed by students Luis Morales as per student vote (purchased form school)
2) long or short dark blue exercise pants (depending on weather)
3) sneakers - free for all to chose brand
4) a dark blue fleece jacket for cold weather, which can be worn in the school at all times (required)
5) a cotton blend sweater with CSS shield, which can be worn in the school at all times (can be purchased from school) . (optional but highly recommended - it does get cold in classrooms!)
Upper School Student Uniform Code
1) same as above EXCEPT that the shirts are DARK NAVY BLUE and the required tie for special events is RED.
