New hires at CSS - and re-alignment of administrative roles

As we move into our next phase of the school's development I have made the decision to hire additional part-time faculty to complement our full-time faculty and expand our afterschool program offerings. The hiring of a full-time office manager will allow me to re-allocate Prof. Stillman and my energies towards instructional leadership, nurturing our relationship with parents and interacting more with students.  Prof. Stillman has been assigned the task of being the school's liason with the Parent Association.  

I would thus like to announce the official hiring of several new faculty and staff, and extend them a warm welcome to our community.

Full-time

Delores Ng will be our office coordinator. Delores was born in Hong Kong, China and raised in the Bronx. She attended NYC public schools, and has a bachelor’s degree in computer science from Brown University, and a master of social work from Columbia University. Previously she worked as a social worker and computer programmer. Delores and her husband Andy have two daughters, Lindsay and Jenna, and live in Westchester, NY.

Part-time and volunteer

Marisel Perez – Office aide and teaching assistant. She will be assisting with general office management and in classrooms supporting spanish courses.  

Christine Petro – Creative arts teacher of the course: Mural, mural on the wall. Christine works for the Morningside Alliance and is is a graduate of New York University.
 
Chelsey Hauge – Creative arts teacher of: Film Media course and after school tutor and study team master. Chelsey is currently completing her masters in media studies at The New School and possesses a bachelors degree in Art and Sociology from Pitzer College, Ca.

Amanda Holman – After-school tutor and study team master. Amanda is a Teacher’s College Graduate Assistant and Rose Fellow who is currently completing her PhD in cognitive psychology. She is also part of Dr. Kuhn's science inquiry and philosophy program research team.

Monica Marin - Office assistant, teacher aide and study team master. Monica has a degree in history from the Pontificia Universidad Catolica de Chile, and is a writer. She is also currently finishing her masters degree in the history of music.
